Are you afraid of ghosts?

“Ghostbusters”, “Casper”. If you grew up in the 1980s, you would be familiar with these supernatural comedy films. Due to the comedic nature of these films, the ghosts do not come across as that scary. But should you have a personal supernatural encounter, how would you react? Would you be spooked and eager to share your story? How would people react?

For Eugene Tay, founder of the YouTube channel “Supernatural Confessions”, it was the dismissive reactions and disbelief from listeners to his supernatural encounters that inspired him to start the channel. CityJo Bruce had a chat with Eugene and found out more about the latter’s paranormal experiences.

“It was basically a safe space for people like myself who had some encounters to come in and share this without being ridiculed,” shared Eugene on the purpose of “Supernatural Confessions”. Having had first-hand paranormal experiences from 2012 to 2014, he was only able to move on after seeking help from religious and spiritual masters. He eventually published a book on his supernatural experiences and sold it in bookstores. Thereafter, people started contacting him, wanting to tell about their personal paranormal experiences. “Supernatural Confessions” thus filled this void to allow people to share. 

In response to Bruce’s question on his view of people asking spirits for 4D numbers, Eugene believed that with every gift one received, there would be some form of payment. As to what entity he thought would embody Singapore, Eugene shared that the pontianak would be the “apex predator”.
